Be Dog Smart
Safety is the main theme behind most of our workshops, and these lessons all stem from our Be Dog Smart Campaign, where we aim to keep children and their families, safe around dogs while at home and out and about in the community.
A dog can be a wonderful addition to a family, but even if a child does not have a family pet, every child will interact with dogs at some stage, be it in a friend’s or grandparent’s house, or when out and about.
Therefore it is of the utmost importance that children are aware of how to remain safe around dogs. Our workshops will help children stay safe when interacting with dogs via fun and interactive workshops where we demonstrate how a child's behaviour can affect how a dog reacts.
You can read more about our Be Dog Smart campaign here.
We also have our Be Dog Confident workshops, which aim to help children with mild anxiety around dogs.
Responsible Dog Ownership
Although Safety is the main theme of our primary workshops, we do also touch on Responsible Dog Ownership, particularly in regards Dogs Trust's famous slogan ‘A dog is for life, not just for Christmas®’
